Tripura : BSF jawan's body cremated with full honours

Body of the Border Security Force(BSF) jawan , killed in landmine blast in Jammu and Kashmir was cremated at his native Pratapgarh town with full honours.

Shambhu Satmura’s body was brought to his home today and then was taken to crematorium ground for the last rites as his family and relatives bid him adieu with tearful eyes.

Apart from his near and dear ones, leaders of different political parties visited his home to pay last respect to him.

Shambhu was killed in a landmine explosion while he was patrolling along the bordering area on Tuesday evening. His body was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but failed as the flight could not take off due to foggy weather.

His body was first brought from the explosion site to Srinagar and then to Delhi before reaching his hometown.

Shambhu’s father was also a BSF jawan. Later, in 2007, Shambhu followed his father’s footsteps.

He had joined BSF Battalion no. 107 was first posted in Rajasthan before transferring to Kashmir.

The BSF jawan is survived by his mother, wife and two sisters.

He had visited his home last June this year and was planning to meet his family on November 28.
