NISA, Thangmeiband cruised past TRUGPU, Nambol 3-1 while NEROCA FC drubbed YPHU 3-0 today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung. Wary of each others, NISA and TRUGPU started their match cautiously. None could succeed in breaking the deadlock till the end of the first half. After careful observation of the match in the first half, NISA coach who after identifying the weaknesses of TRUGPU teed up his players in the second half. Kh Naoton converted a penalty in the 54th minute to give the lead to NISA. Naoton scored his second in the 69th minute. Undaunted after ceding two goals, TRUGPU players put up a spirited fight to restore parity. They got rewarded when S Ratan pulled one back for TRUGPU in the 71st minute.
Even as TRUGPU strug gled hard to find the equaliser, they ceded another goal to their opponents as Y Ibomcha slotted home a goal for NISA in the 74th minute.
In the second encounter, NEROCA FC maintained their unbeaten streak as they drubbed YPHU 3-0. NEROCA FC played in the attacking mode right from the beginning of the match. However, YPHU defenders were cautious in marking the forwards of their opponent. Ch Sushilkumar who taking advantage of the defence split of YPHU slotted home the opener for NEROCA FC in the 34th minute. The first half ended with NEROCA taking a 1-0 lead. YPHU bounced back with more vigour in the second half and were making all out efforts to equalise the goal. However, NEROCA’s lead was extended by Chinedu Emanuel in the 61st minute. Gobin completed the score for NEROCA FC as his brilliant header found the net of his opponents in the 79th minute.
